Purpose: To examine the post-operative results of LASEK procedures using the CustomVis PULZARTM Z1 solid state laser.

Methods: 85 eyes of 48 patients; 30 female 18 male with an average age of 43 - range 20 to 72 years. LASEK was preformed in all cases. Mitomycin C was used in 14 eyes and the procedure was wavefront guided in 13 px. BCVA, subjective refraction, phacimetry and aberrometry were measured on 85 eyes of 48 patients pre and post-operatively.

Results: 94% of preoperative myopes were ±0.50D of target refraction and 98%within 1.00D. 71% of preoperative hypermetropes were within 0.50D and 87% within 1.00D. The BCVA remained unchanged in 93% of subjects..

Conclusions: The PULZAR Z1 is a safe, reliable and effective tool for laser refractive surgery.
