Safe CCC In The Intumescent White

White intumescent cataracts have high intralenticular pressure. A safe technique to prevent the ccc from running off is described. A small initial rhexis is made. Slow decompression by slowly washing away the fluffy white cortical material is done and the rhexis is then enlarged to a size comfortable for phaco. This two step capsulorhexis is an excellent technique for a safe continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis in the whites
