Manifestations of Pulmonary Tuberculosis in the Eye

Purpose: To analyze manifestations of pulmonary tuberculosis in the eye
Material and Methods: A Prospective study was conducted at department of ophthalmology, Lahore General Hospital/PGMI ,Lahore.All the patients with confirmed diagnosis(sputum AFB+ve) of pulmonary tuberculosis were included in the study.
Results: A total of 187 patients were included in the study.118(63%) patients were male and 69(37%) were female patients.2(1.06%) patients presented with interstitial keatitis,9(4.8%) patients presented with anterior uveitis,17(9.09%) patients presented with periphlebitis,26(13.9%) patients presented with choroiditis,16 (8.55%)patients presented with vitritis,14(7.4%) patients presented with nve,8(4.27%) patients presented with vitreous hemorrhage, and 7(3.7%) patients presented with optic atrophy.
Conclusion: Ocular manifestations of pulmonary tuberculosis showed important visual loosing morbidity.
