1. Dr Jan Olivier
2. Prof Robert Stegmann

Department of Ophthalmology, University of Limpopo, MEDUNSA Campus, South Africa

Purpose: To show with the help of ultra high resolution ultrasound videos how viscocanaloplasty works. The images will show the anatomy of the angle of the eye, Canal of Schlemm and collector channels.

Methods: Pre and postoperative ultrasound of the angle of the eye of glaucoma patients undergoing viscocanaloplasty surgery is performed to show the anatomy and changes thereof.

Results: Images show examples of a collapsed canal preoperative and then postoperative canal expansion and collector channel drainage.

Conclusions: Ultra high resolution ultrasound is a valuable research tool to explain the functioning of viscocanaloplasty.
