Citicholin therapy for unilateral sixth nerve palsy on helicopter pilots

PURPOSE To describe Citicholin efficacy in therapy for unilateral sixth nerve palsy on helicopter pilots.

SETTING/VENUE Sumatera Eye Center, Medan, Indonesia .

METHODS 16 patients suffered from sixth nerve palsy after did helicopter maneuvers and being treated with Cithicolin alone. Clinically result was recorded for one week and two weeks therapy.

RESULTS 16 patients those being treated got good result in symptom of dyplopia; 10 patients got complete recovery on 1 week therapy, 6 patients got complete recovery on 2 weeks therapy. 16 patients those being treated got good recovery for unilateral esotrophia; 10 patients got complete recovery on 1 week therapy, 6 patients got complete recovery on 2 weeks therapy.

CONCLUSION Citicholine has good result in therapy for unilateral sixth nerve palsy.
