Wilson's Disease

Purpose: To report a case of Wilson's disease
Method: 35 years old, Malay gentleman with no previous medical was admitted to our centre for altered behaviour for duration of 3 weeks prior to admission. He presented with history of chronic back pain, mild cognitive deterioration, intermittent increased rigidity resembles Parkinsonism without tremor, and aggressive behaviour. There was no history of trauma. Vision was OU 6/6. Anterior segment examination showed bilateral eye Kayser- Fleischer rings. Fundus examination was normal. MRI showed general cerebral atrophy with no space occupying lesion.
Result: Patient was started on penicillamine a copper chelating agent base on KF rings
Conclusions: Treatment can be started before the all the haematological investigation is back base on KF
