Purpose: Uveitic glaucoma is one of the secondary glaucoma.that is difficult to be controlled. Filtering surgery was usually performed for them. However, there was a lot of cases who require the further surgery because of relapse of the inflammation. We report on three cases that GDD implantation was effective.Case 1: 64-year-old male patient with Posner Schlossman Syndrome.Trabeculectomy was done three times on his left eye, but intraocular pressure (IOP) cannot be controlled. Case 2: 32 year-old male patient with Sarcoidosis. He has already blindness of the left eye, and IOP of his right eye cannot be controlled because of frequently absorbed inflammation. Case 3: 67-year-old male patient with Sarcoidosis. IOP of his right eye cannot be controlled.Case1 has been followed for 36 months, Case2 and 3 has been followed for 16 months after the operation.
Methods: Double plate Molteno® implant (Molteno Ophthalmic) was used for Case1. Baeveldt® implant (AMO) was used for Case2 and 3.Main body of implantation was inserted in the superior temporal under the conjunctiva. The tip of tube was implanted anterior chamber angle.
Results:In all cases, IOP has been controlled from 10 to 20mmHg postoperation even if inflammation was continued 1~3months though the inflammation is repeated.
Conclusion:It seemed that GDD implantation is an effective treatment for uveitic glaucoma.
