Purpose: To report an uncommon case of primary frosted branch angiitis
Methods: Retrospective case report
Results: A 15-year-old boy complained of sudden onset of blurred vision in the right eye for several days. Ocular examination revealed moderate decrease of visual acuity (6/10) and anterior chamber reaction in his right eye. Fundoscopic examination disclosed multiple perivascular sheathing of retinal vessels. Fluorescein angiography also revealed staining and mild leakage of affected vessels. Immunological survey and tests of serology for infectious agents did not show any remarkable findings. Under the impression of primary frosted branch angiitis, we start systemic steroid for this case. After 3 months of treatment, the perivascular sheathing of retinal vessels disappeared and the visual acuity of this case recovered almost completely.
Conclusion: We reported an uncommon case of primary frosted branch angiitis in a 15-year-old boy. This patient responded well to systemic steroid.
