Clinical Manifestation of Optic Disc Drusen

Purpose: To report the clinical manifestation of one patient with optic disc drusen (ODD)
Method: A case report about 33-year-old female came to Neuro-Ophthalmology unit in Cicendo Eye Hospital complained about mild decreased of visual acuity on her both eyes. On examination patient's visual acuity on both eyes was 0.9 (Snellen chart) with no progression by pinhole. The pupil was equally reactive and no relative afferent papillary defect (RAPD). Fundus photograph show blurred disc margin with scalloped edge, calcified bodies on the disc surface and obscuration on retinal blood vessel. Visual field, ultrasonography (USG), and CT scan was conducted to confirm the diagnosis. No medical treatment was given, and patient was informed to control regularly.
Result: Several consideration in patient with ODD are appearance of round yellow whitish refractile bodies produced elevation of the disc margin on fundus examination, enlargement of blind spot on visual field examination, highly reflective elevation within the optic disc on USG, and calcified optic disc drusen at the posterior globe-optic nerve junction on neuroimaging test to rule out intracranial or optic nerve tumor.
Conclusion: Optic disc drusen should be considered in any condition which causes decreased visual acuity and elevation of the optic nerve head.
