Early Outcomes of LASIK using the Wavelight Allegretto 500 Hz Excimer laser

Purpose To study the safety and efficacy of Lasik using the Wavelight Allegretto 500Hz Excimer laser for myopia.

Methods This study comprised of eyes that underwent Lasik with the use of the 500Hz Allegretto excimer laser. The flap was created using a femtosecond laser. The uncorrected(UCVA) and best corrected(BCVA) visual acuity,mean refractive spherical equivalent(MRSE) as well as adverse events including loss of BCVA were recorded.

Conclusions The Allegretto Wavelight 500 Hz laser produces predictable results and has a high safety profile for the correction of myopia
