Purpose : To compare the intraoperative effectiveness of Ozil and Ozil IP during phacoemulsification using Infiniti vision system(Alcon Laboratories).

Methods: In this randomized comparative study, 60eyes were assigned to phacoemulsification by Ozil or Ozil IP. The surgery was performed by one surgeon and all the same procedure, chop-tecnique, ovd and bss. Primary outcome measures were CDE(cumulative dissipated energy) and fluid.

bThe Ozil group and Ozil IP group had each 30eyes, the mean CDE was 11.71 ± 2.24 in Ozil group and 7.27± 0.67 in Ozil IP group(P>.05), the fluid was 61.30 ± 3.15cc in Ozil group and 51.97 ± 1.89cc in Ozil IP group(*P<.05)

Conclusion: The Ozil IP may provide more effective and safe for anterior chamber during lens removal with a lower level of CDE and fluid.
