Objective: To evaluate surgical results of using ahmed valve on treatment refractory glaucoma
Patient and method: Clinical observation, noncomperative case series. 37 eyes (37 patients) refractory glaucoma were treated with Ahmed valve
Results: After 6 months, number of glaucoma medication reduce and mean IOP from 32,35±5,13 mmHg preoperative reduce to 18,28±3,99 mmHg (P<0,05). The most observated complications are hyphema 21,62% (in early period) and wound leaking 10,81% (in long- term). Success in 94,6% and completely success in 67,57%.
Conclusion: using Ahmed valve is effective method on treatment refractory glaucoma
