The eye became inflamed 2 months after the procedure and was enucleated 2 weeks later. Multiple fungal abscesses (a) are present in the anterior vitreous. Inset 1 is characteristic of the presentation of fungal endophthalmitis with a well-defined anterior chamber infiltrate associated with minimal signs of inflammation.
