Synopsis: Accommodative IOLs can only be successful when fibrotic or regenerative reaction of the capsule can be prevented. Cataract surgery using the waterjet technology, sealed capsule irrigation and implantation of different accommodative IOLs as a combination of concepts may be a promising way for future cataract surgery.
