Methods Using ocular B-ultrasound, the orbital MRI scan, HE staining and immunohistochemical methods to have a preliminary observation. RT-PCR of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded was used to analyze pathological tissue of the left optic nerve. Results Ocular B-ultrasound, the orbital MRI scan results showed that the left optic nerve is obvious thickening; HE staining of the tumor tissue display a Rossettes- corporations structure; Immunohistochemistry report that CD3 (-), CD20 (-), CD99 (+), Desmin (-), GFAP (-), Ki-67 (+ >75%), CK (-); EWS - FLI1 fusion gene expressed in the tumor cells using RT-PCR test. Conclusion We found the primitive neuroectodermal tumors originally in optic nerve, the fusion location is EWS - FLI1. |
