RESULTS.The mean age of 89 patients was 36.8 years.On average the intraocular retention after the removal of the silicone oil lasted 5.30 months,and the follow-up time was 6.33 months. The chages in refraction and axial length were 6.44 diopters and 12.08mm, respectively. Eyes injected with 5000cs (47 eyes) tended to have higher changes in the refraction and axial length than did eyes injected with 3700cs(42 eyes).Statistically significant differences were shown for the changes in refraction, whereas not for the changes in axial length and visual acuity.
