Coloboma of Iris and Choroid: Two Case Reports

Objective  To report three eyes of two patients with congenital uvea change characterized by the clolboma of iris and choroid.
Method  Three eyes of two male patients’ clinical history and the results of slitlamp biomicroscope examination, B-ultrasoundand and fundus photography are reviewed. Cataract surgery, phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation, were performed on two eyes of these patients. These patient’s clinical presentation, auxiliary examination findings and the outcome of cataract sugery were reviewed.
Results  The clinical presentation and the results of auxiliary examinations were most compatible with classical congenital coloboma of iris and choroid. Moreover, these three eyes of the two patients were found to have complicated cataract. All these three eyes did not have retina detachment. After cataract surgery, the visual acuity of the two eyes were improved significantly.
Conclusions  Cataract surgery could improve the visual acuity of these three eyes in these patients significantly.
