RK has been replaced by excimer laser corneal refractive surgery with better precision and lower incidence. However, RK has the advantage of sparing the optical zone whereby it could reduce the sight-threatening complications. If a new RK procedure entails no incisional cuts into the corneal epithelium, repulsive complications that results from the delayed wound healing at the sites of corneal cuts could be avoided. Herein we propose using the femtosecond laser to intrastromally perform radial corneal incisions for myopia correction in which both the optical zone and the corneal epithelium are not violated. This procedure may have a limitation of correcting high myopia, nevertheless, it is promising with no incidences of complications.
