For primary RRD, SB surgery has been considered the “gold standard”. In the past several decades, SB techniques have been modified repeatedly. The main aim of these modifications was to find the optimal surgical procedure which could increase the anatomical reattachment rate and minimize intraoperative and postoperative complications. To find a more precise and safe way, we improved the RD surgical technique by increasing the ratio of microsurgery under microscope to treat primary RRD without using the indirect ophthalmoscope and have successfully obtained a better result. |
