Objective : To evaluate the posterior continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis (PCCC) in preventing posterior capsular opacification (PCO) after posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation in children .
Methods : PCCC was made in 127 cases (179 eyes) of posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation and followed up over 2 months to 1 year .
Results : 160 eyes(89.4﹪) could keep the a clear visual . the best corrected visual acuity was improved 0.5 or over in 69eyes(39.1﹪). None of the cases was discovered to develop serious complications.
Conclnsion :The PCCC is an effective method in preventing children PCO.
