| FILTERING PATHWAY PLASTY & SUPRACILIARY SPACES OPENING SURGERY |

| Objective To fined a new security surgery method of lower IOP effect more than trabeculectomy and filtering pathway plasty.
Methods The surgery method: Like as conventional trabeculectomy, and add a deep sclerectomy at pars plana, then an M shape of Artificial Trabecular Frame (ATF) made in PMMA designed by the author was implanted under the scleral flap(kinescope). Inferiortemporal quadrant may be selected as surgery area. See Fig.1. Twenty nine volunteers with refractory glaucoma and failure cases after trabeculectomy were accepted this surgery, and follow up for 1 months to 4 years. Nineteen cases were followed up for 3 months. Nine cases in 19 cases were follow up 3-4 years.
Results The mean of IOP from preoperative 35.4mmHg（28-43mmHg）decreased to 11.4mmHg（8-17mmHg）at 3 mounts after surgery in all of 19 cases. And the mean of IOP from preoperative 35.11±5.49mmHg decreased to 12.78 ±1.72mmHg (10-15mmHg ) at 3 years after surgery in 9 cases. The vision and visual field of them were improved or no change after surgery.
Conclusions This is a series studies of animal experiments, materials and pre-clinical investigate for 10 years. This paper is a part of the pre-clinical investigates only. Prospective research in multi-center will soon start. The advantages of this surgery are as follow: This frame may keep the space under the scleral flap opening to the supraciliary space through the hole of deep sclerectomy at pars plana. It is called as Filtering Pathway Plasty and Supraciliary Spaces Opening Surgery(FPP&TSSOS). The surgery perform on inferiortemporal quadrant not only facility but also infuse a little air easy, which may keep the anterior chamber deep, so the postoperative applications of shallow anterior chamber did not in any case.
