Abstract With the development of science and technology, the clinical examination of Retina Nerve Fiber Layer (RNFL) is renovating. We review and summarize the examinations which offer qualitative analysis such as Confocal Scanning Laser Tomography (CSLT), Frequence Doubling Technology (FDT) and quantitative analysis such as HRT II, Confocal Scanning Laser Polarimetry (CSLP), Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). And the principle and character of all the examinations are analyzed. We find that OCT which can offer us more exact and more easily observed pictures plays an important role in measure the thickness of RNFL to diagnose diseases in RNFL such as glaucoma, myopic macular degeneration. These examinations not only help to clinical quick diagnosis of the diseases in RNFL, but also are good for the research in ophthalmology and the investigation of ophthalmic epidemiology. |
