Purpose: To analyse the causes of patients’ low eye sight after cataract surgery (Phacoemusification and intraocular lens implantation (Phaco+IOL)) in our hospital in 2009.
Methods: Review the information of 336 patients’ (384 eyes’) that had Phaco+IOL in our hospital from Jan to Nov in 2009.Main outcome measures: visual acuity before and after surgery, manifestation of direct-ophthalmoscope.
Results: There are 25 low visual acuity eyes in all 384 eyes. 8 eyes have AMD, 5 eyes have diabetic retinopathy, 5 eyes have BRVO; 4 eyes have severe astigmatism due to the surgeries; 2 eyes have error in measurement; 1 eye input an improper IOL.
Conclusions: The common causes of low visual acuity after general Phaco+IOL are retina ophthalmology, surgery lead to astigmatism , error of the measurement about the cataract eye and improper IOL. |
