Purpose To present a simple procedure technique to treat symptomatic conjunctivochalasis.
Methods Thirty-two eyes of twenty-two patients (14 women and 8 men) with a mean age of 71.62±8.47 years (range, 48-90 years) were treated with a conjunctiva electric coagulation to Tenon capsule.
Results Mean operation time was 8.67±2.07 mins (range, 6-14 mins). With a mean follow-up period of 4 ± 2.3 months (range, 3-6 months), no complications and no recurrence of conjunctival folds on the lower eyelid margin were observed.
Conclusion Electric coagulation of conjunctiva can successfully treat symptomatic conjunctivochalasis.
