Objective To evaluate the efficacy of Knapp procedure for treatment of hypertropia in one Parry-Romberg Syndrome patient
Method A retrospective review of one Parry-Romberg Syndrome patient with superior rectus muscle paresis who had Knapp procedure. Ocular motility, including objective and subjective torsion, were evaluated before and after surgery.
Results The preoperative hypertropia was 25 PD and 10 PD in the primary position and downgaze, respectively. After surgery of six months the hypertropia was zero and inversel 4PD in the primary position and downgaze, respectively. The patients was diplopic before surgery and asymptomatic after surgery.
Conclusion Knapp procedure can effectively treat superior rectus muscle palsy in Parry-Romberg Syndrome patient |
