Objective To investigate the characteristics of intraocular cysticercosis.
Methods The fundus photograph、A/B-scan and CT of 12 cases (12eyes) were diagnosed as cysticercosis were analysised .The patients accepted surgery, the cyst was examined by pathology.
Results Fundus photograph showed a dense , white scolex evaginated in the cyst. B-scan ultrasonography is valuable for detecting the cyst. A –scan shows two equally high reflective echo spikes, representing the anterior and posterior walls of the cyst. CT scan can show the dense nodules on the posterior wall of the eye ball. Pathology examination showed the cyst wall, body cavity and protoscolex.
Conclusion Fundus photograph combined with A/B scan and CT is valuable to diagnosis cysticercosis , B-scan is the most valuable methode. |
